The average price for a “basic” LASIK procedure across the US through the second quarter of 2007 was $1958 per eye and the average price for customized all-laser LASIK was $2357 per eye. This average includes discount centers. According to a report given before the US House of Representatives in 2006: “Indeed, only 3 percent of LASIK procedures cost less than $1,000 per eye, and the average price is about $2,000.”
A recent Wall Street Journal survey shows that over 15% of the patients who received ‘discount’ LASIK were unhappy with their results. 15% may not seem like much, until you realize that less than 8% of applicants even qualified for the discount price. Some of these dissatisfied patients have come to Dr. Beyer seeking improvement after surgery elsewhere.
The cost for your procedure can only be determined after the exam and consultation and depends on which procedure will best achieve your vision objectives.

Many insurance plans offer a LASIK discount benefit. Please inform us prior to your surgery date if you have insurance coverage, so we can work with you and your provider to apply any savings possible to your fee. Some vision plans that provide discounts for LASIK are VSP, Spectera, EyeMed, Superior Vision, LCA Vision, and Cole.
